(Owatonna, MN) On Monday July 1, 2008, Truth Hardware's parent company, FKI Industries plc, was purchased by Melrose plc (both of these businesses are located in England). Truth Hardware, which had been owned by FKI since 1993, was part of the Hardware Division within FKI. Other divisions managed by FKI included; Energy Technology; Lifting Products & Services; and Logistex. Altogether, there were approximately 23 separate businesses within the FKI family which have now been purchased by Melrose.

Truth Hardware began a trend of significant growth during the period which it was owned by FKI which Melrose intends to accelerate, and is now widely considered as the leader in the design and manufacture of quality operating hardware used on windows and patio doors. Selling to manufacturers throughout the world, Truth Hardware has facilities in Owatonna, MN and Toronto, ON, and currently employs approximately 1,000 people.
